Preparedness Plan and Risk Management

Background:
Building on the experience developed during the first phase, this Work Package shifts the focus from training on communicable disease epidemiology to capacity building in generic preparedness and risk management.
The aim is to increase health security in the Mediterranean and South East Europe by enhancing and strengthening preparedness to common health threats.
Objectives:
To promote the development of common procedures in interoperable Generic Preparedness and Risk management among the countries involved in the Network.
Activities:
- An in-depth core-capacity needs assessment at national level emphasizing the local level
- Organization of two workshop (First Workshop in 2012 and Second Workshop in 2013) with capacity building sessions in Madrid addressing topics related to preparedness and risk management on the basis of the results of the core-capacity needs assessment, aimed also at personnel working at local level
- Capacity building materials for workshops and sessions with recommended procedures focused on the topics dealt with will be produced
- A simulation exercise will be organized by ISCIII (Spain) and Institut de Santè Publique (Algeria) in coordination with InVS, IP and ISS with all the partners involved
- Organization of 2 one-week training in Algeria
- Updating of the Directory of Trainings and Fellowships
